County receives funds for bulletproof vests

The Bureau of Justice Assistance has awarded Curry County $16,695 for the purpose of purchasing body armor for law enforcement officers.

Curry County will use the money to purchase armored vests for its Sheriff’s Office and the Adult Detention Center, according to a county news release.
