Counties seeking candidates for Senate District 27 seat

Curry and Roosevelt county commissioners are accepting letters of interest for the Senate District 27 vacancy created by Stuart Ingle’s retirement.

In Curry County, letters may be submitted to the Curry County Manager’s Office at 417 Gidding, Suite 100, Clovis, or via email to [email protected] .

Deadline for receiving the letters is 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Curry County commissioners will meet Nov. 14 to review the candidates and select a candidate to advance to Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who will make the appointment.

In Roosevelt County, letters may be submitted to the county manager’s office at 109 W. First St., Portales, or via email to [email protected] .

Deadline for receiving letters in Roosevelt County is 5 p.m. Monday. Roosevelt commissioners meet Nov. 14 to select their candidate.

County commissions in De Baca, Chaves and Lea counties will also submit candidates for the governor’s consideration.

The candidate Lujan Grisham selects will represent the district during the legislative session early next year.
