A criminal complaint alleges a Clovis woman was raped and hit with a crucifix after she picked up her boyfriend from a downtown brewery on Saturday.
The woman told police her boyfriend, Erick Terrones-Palacio, 32, was “drunk and was being aggressive” as he ripped her clothes off, stomped on her head, neck and arms. She said she suffered a laceration on her forehead when Terrones-Palacio “threw Jesus at her,” records show.
Terrones-Palacio told police the Jesus crucifix became broken while he was “using it to create distance between him” and his girlfriend who was punching him. Records show Terrones-Palacio claimed he was defending himself when he “slapped her causing her to fall and hit her head which was when she started to bleed,” according to the criminal complaint.
Terrones-Palacio was charged with criminal sexual penetration, aggravated battery and robbery. The victim said he stole her cell phone and smart watch when she attempted to call police during the attack.
Terrones-Palacio was booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center just before 9 p.m. on Saturday and remained there Monday on a $1,500 cash only bond.
