Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
May 12, 1953 - Nov. 13, 2023
Randy Allen Osburn, age 70, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM, First Methodist Church, 1501 Sycamore Street with Pastor Jeb Archey officiating.
Randy was born on May 12, 1953, to Allen Junior Osburn and Juanita Mae Sinor in Roanoke, Alabama. He married Cynthia "Cindy" Helmer on February 3, 1972, in Portales, NM.
Randy's early years were spent primarily in Oklahoma enjoying lake activities, working on an interstate road crew, and catching crawdads in Spunky Creek. He spent his high school years working for his mom and dad at Ozzie's Drive-In where he learned a strong work ethic and the value of customer relations. This would follow him for the rest of his life.
Randy's adult life was spent as owner and operator of Osburn Superior Tire. He loved serving his customers, spending time with them chit chatting about local issues over coffee or coke and collecting and displaying vintage pieces. He took pride in his community and the relationships he built with the people in it. He always went out of his way to make sure everyone was satisfied with his work.
His greatest joy was his family and friends. He loved telling stories about his childhood in Oklahoma (some true, some not). He was always willing to sacrifice so his children and grandchildren could have what they needed. He took pleasure in telling others about their accomplishments.
Following retirement, Randy enjoyed having coffee with friends, watching Let's Make a Deal, and working on his pickup "Old Blue".
Survivors include his wife; Cindy Osburn of the home, children; Shea Osburn (Phil Martinez) of Fresno, CA, Brooke (Tony) Bowman of Clovis, NM, Kerry (D'Shawn) Osburn of Dora, NM, sister; Debbie Nation of Tulsa, OK, brother; Tony (Kim) Osburn of Tulsa, OK, six grandchildren; Luke Bowman, Kady Osburn, Annie Bowman, Calla Martinez, Kayson Osburn, and Iris Martinez.
