Winfred enjoyed coaching so much that he continued to coach for several years after his sons had grown past playing age.

Winfred also enjoyed training horses, roping, and riding. A skinny animal was only allowed on his place until he could fatten them up. He loved roping with his family and raising a small herd of cows on the family ranch south of Taiban. NM. He worked for the USDA/FmHA for 34 years as lender/chief of loan programs. He raised his children with a strong work ethic, took them to church every Sunday, and provided lifelong stories to be passed on for generations to come. He will be sorely missed.
