Teens held after Clovis police pursuit

A teenager accused of shooting at Clovis police during a vehicle pursuit is jailed on multiple charges.

Omarrion Price, 18, is charged with four felonies related to the chase and also faces multiple charges out of Albuquerque where he is suspected of armed robbery.

No one was injured in the pursuit, which occurred Nov. 22.

Police said they were aware of Price's alleged involvement in recent robberies in Albuquerque when they "spotted a vehicle they believed to be associated" with Price.

When they attempted to pull it over, the driver sped away.

Price, a passenger in the vehicle, began "firing a handgun back towards pursuing officers," Clovis police stated in a news release.

Police said the pursuit ended in the 1000 block of West Christopher Street when Price exited the vehicle and began running. He was arrested, with the help of a police dog, in the 2300 block of Williams Street where he was hiding.

The driver of the vehicle, Sheryka Baca, 18, was also taken into custody and charged with fleeing a law officer and harboring a felon.

Both Price and Baca were being held in the Curry County Detention Center last week without bond.
