Business partners Amanda Ornelas and Jonathan Rodriguez are set to open their Tropical Twist Café in mid-December.
“We’ll be offering acai bowls, smoothies, ginger shots, lemonades and teas,” Ornelas said.
Ornelas described the acai bowl as a smoothie base but like ice cream sprinkled with granola and featuring chopped fruit on top.
“We’ll have all kinds of smoothies: Strawberry banana, a daily green smoothie, chocolate peanut butter twist and other selections,” Ornelas said.
She added the purpose of the ginger shot is to help with your immunity system and energy level.
“Me and my business partner Jonathan like to stay healthy and exercise and there’s not really a lot of healthy options in Clovis so we decided to open our shop,” Ornelas said.
She said they were inspired by going to shops in Albuquerque, Denver and Miami.
Tropical Twist Café is located at 713 E. 21st St. across from Walgreens.
