La Casa recipient of $1 million

The Department of Health and Human Services last week announced over $1 million in funding for La Casa Family Health Center’s Portales Clinic, according to information from U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M.

The funding comes from a program “that provides equitable health care to the nation’s highest-need communities, wrote Heinrich’s Deputy Communications Director Caty Payette in an email.

“We’re confident this funding will help to address health care shortages in New Mexico and make sure families can access the care they need to be safe and healthy.”
