New convenience store planned near hospital

A new convenience store is being built in northwest Clovis on the southwest corner of 21st St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

“It’s going to be called Rory’s Convenience Store,” Larry Kolek said.

Kolek is owner of Allstate Mechanical, a Clovis-based building contractor.

Kolek said the building is for the Jain family. The family owns two gas station/convenience stores in Clovis, one on Prince Street and one on Llano Estacado Boulevard.

“This is the first Rory’s. The Jains are looking at possibly building more Rory’s in eastern New Mexico,” Kolek said.

Kolek noted the Jains also have business ventures in Texas including 11 Schlotzsky’s sandwich shops.

Kolek said that once the convenience store at 2201 W. 21st St. is completed a major remodel is scheduled for the Jain’s gas station on Llano Estacado.

“As for the Rory’s convenience store, the target opening date is July 1,” Kolek said.
