Obituary: Kathy Lynn Cox

Kathy Lynn Cox, age 58, of Clovis, NM passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in Brownfield, TX. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Josh McLemore, at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton St., Clovis, NM. Honorary pallbearers will be all the former C.G.A.A. Pink Panther Softball players.

Kathy was born on March 3, 1965, to James E. (Jim) and Jo Ann (McGinnis) Cox in Clovis, NM. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1983 and continued her education at ENMU. Kathy owned and operated Clovis Floral Designs since 2016. She previously worked for Clovis Floral and Greenhouses for many years. Kathy was a very gifted and talented floral designer.

Softball was an enormous part of her life, starting as a player and then continuing as a coach. She coached the Pink Panthers for 38 years. She was also an avid fan of Clovis High School sports and the Clovis Wildcat Band. She also became a Bushland (TX) Falcons sports and band fan supporting her great nieces. Kathy held many positions on the Board of Clovis Girls Athletic Association in the slow-pitch softball and basketball leagues. Kathy loved vacationing in the New Mexico mountains with her family.

Survivors include her mother, Jo Ann Cox of Clovis, NM; sisters, Pam Beaver and husband David of Brownfield, TX, and Kimberlee Cox and husband Christopher of Clovis, NM; nieces, Leslee Thrower and fiancé́ Heath Hoskinson of Amarillo, TX and Chelesa Fuessel and husband Jason of San Angelo, TX; great nieces, Tara Thrower, Raylee Thrower, Dayla Fuessel; and great nephew, Hendrix Fuessel.

She is preceded in death by her father James E. (Jim) Cox and her sister Judy Ann Cox.
