Paw prints: Groups hosting vaccine clinic

As the winter season continues, High Plains Humane Society partners have teamed up with Rezdawg Rescue to protect your pets against deadly infections.

High Plains will be hosting a free vaccine clinic, with low-cost microchips, to help provide affordable care to families.

The event is scheduled at the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico on March 2-3. The vaccines are sponsored by Rezdawg Rescue and Mile High Canine Rescue.

The clinic will be held in a drive-up fashion from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointments are needed. Cash payments only are accepted for the microchips and donations are welcomed to help offset supply costs.

For healthy dogs:

• Distemper/Parvo - Free

• Rabies - Free

• Microchip - $15

For healthy cats:

• FVRCP (cat distemper/cold) - Free

• Rabies - Free

• Microchip - $15

Pet owners are encouraged to keep their pet in the car until it is their turn. Dogs must be leashed and cats must remain in a carrier. It is also encouraged to bring previous vaccination records, if available.
