Opinion: Funding Ukraine won't stop chaos

The world is in chaos.

Ukraine is running out of men, material and munitions to fight the war, while the two Zs, Zelensky and Zaluzhnyi, are sparring to see who is in charge.

Even with the assistance of U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, President Zelensky can’t seem to fire Gen. Zaluzhnyi, who refuses to leave his post.

Also in gridlock is the parliament of Ukraine, who can’t pass a mobilization law that will satisfy everyone and still provide the military with the troops necessary to continue fighting.

Additionally, the European leadership believes that while Vladimar Putin’s forces are locked in a stalemate, once he wins the Ukraine war, he will continue to march into Western Europe.

The U.K. has signed a security agreement with Ukraine and the Germans are in the process of doing likewise in the hope that this will stall the Russian juggernaut.

The Baltic states, along with Poland, Belgium and Finland to name just a few countries, all believe that the Russians are coming, the Russians are coming.

The U.K. is pushing the idea to put a NATO force on the ground in Ukraine, and Poland wants to establish a “no fly” zone in Western Ukraine.

In a recent interview on Morning Joe, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told Mika Brzezinski that if Ukraine didn’t get the $60 billion proposed by the U.S. government, Russia could win the war in Ukraine and then continue into the NATO region of Western Europe and we would end up fighting Russia and then, “Americans wouldn’t like that.”

Meanwhile in the Middle East, Israel is fighting Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in Gaza while also fighting with Hezbollah on its northern borders.

Israel is also bombing Syria and has killed an Iranian envoy to that country.

At the same time, Iraqi and Syrian resistance groups are attacking U.S. bases in Syria and Iraq. The U.S. is retaliating against these groups with missile attacks, taking care to avoid an all-out war with Iran.

A review of countries involved in hostilities in the Middle East would include the U.S., the U.K., Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Yemen.

Surely none of this can spiral out of control.

Someone needs to explain how giving Ukraine $60 billion is going to fix this.
