”How to Kiss Your Best Friend” by Jenny Proctor. Kate Fletcher is my kryptonite. She’s also my best friend. Former best friend? I’m not sure what you call it when we grew up attached at the hip and then she left Silver Creek to travel the world. The important thing is: Kate is back. And I’m still in love with her. But something is different now. The attraction doesn’t seem one-sided. I don’t think I’m imagining the heat in Kate’s eyes or the chemistry crackling between us. But will that be enough to keep Kate here, when, for as long as I can remember, all she’s wanted to do is leave?

“Watch Where They Hide” by Tamron Hall. After dropping her child off at preschool, Marla Hancock disappears. She had recently left her verbally abusive husband and moved in with her sister, Shelly, who simply can’t believe that her sister would ever willingly vanish without her children. But with limited support from the town’s police department, Shelly fears that Marla’s disappearance won’t get the attention it deserves, so she reaches out to TV investigator Jordan Manning. After her investigative and reporting skills helped solve multiple murders, Jordan Manning’s career in the newsroom is on the rise. But even with this new status, Jordan still feels pressure to prove herself as a young Black professional. When Shelly reaches out, she feels compelled to do all she can to find Marla. Jordan’s search twists and turns in ways she could never have imagined, illuminating scandals and secrets that place her own life in grave danger.

“Fatal First Edition” by Jenn McKinlay. Lindsey Norris and her husband, Sully, are at a popular library conference to hear book restoration specialist Brooklyn Wainwright give a keynote address. Brooklyn determines the novel is one of a kind and quite valuable, so Lindsey and Sully return the book to the conference director. But just hours after the pair boards the train back to Connecticut, rumors that the Highsmith novel has gone missing buzz amongst the passengers, and they soon find the conference director murdered. And worse—the murderer planted the book in Lindsey and Sully’s room, making them prime suspects. Now, they must uncover the murderer, before they find themselves booked for a crime they didn’t commit.
