No announcement was made concerning a new president for Clovis Community College at the conclusion of Wednesday’s regular meeting of the college’s Board of Trustees.
“The board is looking forward to making an announcement on the new president for Clovis Community College in the not too distant future,” Board Chair Lora Harlan told The News after the session.
Robin Jones is CCC’s interim president.
Jones has been interim president in the wake of the resignation of Charles Nwankwo last year; she plans on retiring July 1.
Five finalists for the position have been to Clovis to meet with the board individually in the past few weeks.
Candidates are looking to fill the position last held by Charles Nwankwo who was placed on administrative leave in August 2022 and resigned in February 2023.
In Wednesday’s board meeting, Harlan extended thanks to a number of people for their work and help on the presidential search, including the community and CCC staff.
The Board’s next meeting is a “special session” set for Apr. 18 at 8 a.m. The next regular meeting is May 1 at 8 a.m. Both meetings are set for room 512 at CCC.
