Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
It’s time again for the Clovis Music Festival. This year’s headliners will include the rock band Gin Blossoms and country music’s Kip Moore who will headline the 37th annual event.
“You don’t get this in Clovis every day,” said Kim Tipton, events coordinator for Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce.
Other performances, all taking place at the Curry County Events Center, will include Bowling for Soup and a Pink Floyd laser spectacular, which will be a laser show along to the music of the popular ’70s band.
A schedule of events are as follows:
• 7 p.m. Thursday – Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular
• 7 p.m. Friday – Micky and the Motorcars, along with Kip Moore
• 7 p.m. Saturday – Blossoms and Bowling for Soup
Events Center doors will open at 5:30 each night.
“We will have Curry County sheriff deputies and Cannon Air Force Base airmen for plenty of added security,” said KC Messick, general manager for the Events Center.
Messick said they’re working on setting up the stage and getting the arena ready. Sound and lights will be set up soon.
There is a clear-bag policy that will be enforced at the door, according to Messick.
“Should be an amazing three nights of music,” Messick said. “Biggest Clovis Music Festival ever.”
“It’s always the goal, to be better than last year,” Tipton said.
This festival has been in the works since last July, according to Tipton.
