Thunderstorm warning issued for Curry, Roosevelt counties

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Curry and Roosevelt counties until 5 p.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service reports a severe thunderstorm was located near Melrose at 4:17 p.m. The storm was "nearly stationary" with 60-mph wind gusts and half-dollar size hail.

"Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees," NWS warned.

The weather service predicted Melrose, St. Vrain, Oasis State Park, Cannon Air Force Base and Floyd could be in the path of the storm.
