Portales Fire Department Chamber biz of the month

The Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce has named the Portales Fire Department as its Business of the Month for June.

According to a news release from the Chamber: “With the recent fire at Hampton Farms, they stepped up even more to keep our community safe.”

“The fire department is short staffed as it is and when events like this happen, it makes their work that much more difficult,” the release stated.

The Chamber’s Volunteer of the Month Award also went to the department, “For all the crews who aided” in the Hampton Farms blaze.
