Ask the News - June 23

Isn’t the school year over? What’s with all the cars every day at the Sixth Grade Academy at Marshall?

Most of the cars seen daily packing the parking lot at Marshall are associated with the school system’s “Camp Wildcat,” according to Clovis Municipal Schools Superintendent Renee Russ.

“Well, I can’t confidently say that ‘all’ of the cars at Marshall are there because of the summer camp, but it seems to make sense that many or most of them would be related to the camp,” Russ wrote in an email.

Camp Wildcat, is a popular program for kindergarteners through seventh graders that ran from June 3 through Thursday.

Russ wrote people may find answers to questions they have about CMS activities online.

“Most anything people are interested to know can be found on our website, our social media pages, or our YouTube channel. We encourage everyone to explore and read about all of the good things going on around the district,” Russ wrote.
