Program offers tools for 'healthy lives'

Curry County Youth Services will be hosting a “summer prevention program” on July 15-18.

Kids from kindergarten through eighth grade will have the opportunity to sign up for the program to learn and have the tools they “need to live healthy, fulfilling lives,” according to a county news release.

By participating in this program, youth will:

• Gain knowledge about the impact of substances on their bodies.

• Learn strategies to prevent and address bullying.

• Improve their well-being by understanding their emotions and learning healthy ways to express them.

July 15 and 17 will be dedicated to kindergarten through third grade students from 8 a.m. to noon. July 16 and 18 will be solely for the fourth through eighth graders, 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Registration is open as of Tuesday. The program will be hosted at the Clovis Community College.
