Opinion: Democrats painted selves into corner

The Democrat Party leadership has painted itself into a corner. It did it knowingly and diligently.

In February of this year, Special Counsel Robert K. Hur published his report on the possible misuse of classified information by President Joe Biden. After interviewing Biden for five hours over two days, Hur concluded that Biden was an “elderly man with a poor memory.”

Hur further determined that even if the president were indicted for any offence, he would probably be found unfit to stand trial due to memory loss.

This should have been a bellwether for things to come, but was first denounced and denounced and then ignored by Democrat leadership.

This was done because February is the beginning of the primary election season. President Biden, the incumbent, was almost certain to be re-nominated for his job, although he did face competition by a number of unknowns, with one exception. That exception was Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Dem leadership was able to keep Kennedy off of the Democrat primary ballot, and force him to run as an Independent. According to the latest data I was able to find, when the smoke cleared after the primaries, three Democrats had “pledged delegates.” Those Dems were Joe Biden with 3,894, Dean Phillips with 4 and Jason Palmer with 3. Biden claims the nomination.

Throughout the primaries, Biden continued to demonstrate problems when appearing in public, at times seemingly unaware of where he was. Although noted and reported by a few members of the fourth estate, most ignored these incidents with some even accusing Biden opponents of using artificial intelligence to alter videos of his appearances to present him in an unfavorable manner.

We like to think of our president as the “Leader of the Free World” or the “Collective West.” This supposed leadership includes NATO, the G-7 Economic Group, the Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance as well as considerable influence in the European Union.

Now, with the Democratic nomination locked up, Dem party leaders, major party doners and major voices in the media are seeking ways to deny Biden the nomination.

It is important to remember that the until the night of the Presidential Debate on June 27, Democrat party leadership was perfectly willing to elect a president and “Leader of the Free World” whom they knew was mentally diminished. All this while the United States is involved in conflicts with Ukraine, the Mid-East and China.
