The Clovis Regional Airport has canceled all flights scheduled Sunday and "there could be potential disruptions extending into Monday," according to a city news release.
A technical issue with the Automated Weather Observing System, which provides "crucial" information needed for arriving and departing flights, is the cause of the cancellations, the city said.
"The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has already assigned a technician to fix the issue," according to the city news release.
"Denver Air Connection understands the inconvenience this may cause to customers and assures them that once the AWOS is back in service, they will work diligently to reschedule flights and accommodate affected passengers.
"In situations like these, safety and accuracy are paramount, and the FAA are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Any updates will be posted as soon as the issue has been addressed.
