RGH announces new services

Roosevelt General Hospital will soon offer pediatric occupational therapy services as well as echocardiogram readings.

At their regular meeting Tuesday, hospital CEO Kaye Green told the board that RGH signed the lease for the space where the pediatric occupational therapy services will be provided.

“It’s across the parking lot from our existing physical therapy space and on the same side as our speech therapy leased space on South Avenue O,” Green told the News.

The space is in need of minimal renovations, according to Green. Primarily new flooring and paint, along with other changes to meet the program needs. Green said those renovations will start soon, and they anticipate providing this new service starting in September.

Tina Thron is the occupational therapist who will be providing services to pediatric patients.

The cardiologist who will read echocardiograms, Anthony Agostini, was presented to the board and was approved for credentialing and privileging.

“We anticipate starting this new service at RGH in August,” Green said.

In addition, RGH is still working on construction for their surgical expansion and ICU/Step Down Unit. Green said their two new operating rooms and ICU (intensive care unit) should be complete by December 31, if they’re able to stay on schedule.
