Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
What is going on at the southwest corner of Purdue and Thornton streets in Clovis? It looks like a new structure is going up.
Nick Griego & Sons has a building permit to create storefronts at that location, said city officials and Nick Griego Jr.
“There was a hamburger joint there when I was young, then an Asian store,” said Griego, vice president of the construction company.
Griego said the new construction at Purdue and Thornton will have eight storefronts facing Purdue.
“Each one has 800 square feet. Two of them will be a coffee and snack place and another will be an eyelashes, makeup and massage place,” Griego said.
Griego noted this isn’t the first project the company has worked on like this.
“We have another project in the curve at 2325 N. Main. There’s a detail shop and there are plans for a gaming machine place,” he said.
Griego said the company is building for Clovis’ future.
“We go to these empty lots and build. I think it adds not only value, but it brings people’s spirits up and brings businesses to Clovis,” he said.
Griego said the company is building an apartment complex on Bob White Court that will include a pickleball court.
“We’re excited,” he said.
