Saturday will be move-in day for Eastern New Mexico University students living on campus.
The university's administration has also planned several activities that will take place during the annual welcome weekend, or Dawg Days, to welcome students back to campus, according to an ENMU news release.
"Dawg Days are here again. I love this time of year when students move in, and the campus truly comes to life," ENMU Chancellor James Johnston said.
Johnston said he's "looking forward to seeing everyone back on campus and we are ready."
The release reports new students are encouraged to move in from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
ENMU faculty, staff, and student groups will be out that morning from 8 a.m. until noon to help new students move into their dorms.
Returning students can move in from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, the release states.
"We are elated to welcome hundreds of new Hounds to our beautiful ENMU campus," said Christy Johanson, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
"Move-in day will be awesome, and we have numerous events and activities to help everyone settle in."
Dawg Days kicks off at 5 p.m. Saturday with the Family/Community Fair, pep rally, and barbecue at the Dallan Sanders Patio outside the Campus Union Building.
The news release also notes the Office of Campus Life has lined up three nights of entertainment as part of Dawg Days.
Saturday night, there will be a student paint party featuring DJ FoulMouth J. There will be gallons of neon paint, special effects, and a live DJ.
Next Sunday, ENMU welcomes comedians Brent Pella and Andrew Rivers.
Pella is a stand-up comedian and filmmaker whose videos have gained over 500 million views online and was recently named a "Creator to Watch" by the New York Comedy Festival, the release states.
Rivers has toured across North America and Europe.
On Aug. 19, ENMU welcomes Mentalist Matt the Knife, an "outrageous mentalist," magician, and speaker known for his trademark brand of wit that blends intense charisma with "wickedly humorous improvisation and unique performance art," the release states.
