Teen sentenced to juvenile facility

A 14-year-old Clovis boy last week was committed to the Children, Youth, and Families Department for unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and receiving a stolen firearm.

The sentence, handed down by Judge Drew Tatum, is for one year, according to District Attorney Quentin Ray.

Clovis police were dispatched April 12 to a residence for a report of theft.

After speaking with residents and reviewing surveillance footage, officers were led to the juvenile’s house where he was found with a stolen firearm in his waste band, Ray said in a news release.
