Teen dead in Clovis shooting

A 16-year-old was shot and killed Tuesday night at Clovis Apartments, according to Clovis police.

Police are looking for Giovanni Brown-Johnson, 18, as a suspect in the slaying. An arrest warrant was issued accusing him of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence, police said in a news release

Police were dispatched to the apartments at 1000 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. They found the teen boy suffering from "several gunshot wounds," the release stated. The victim was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center where he died.

"The Clovis Police Department is seeking the public's help with locating Giovanni Brown-Johnson. If you know the whereabouts of or see Giovanni Brown-Johnson please immediately call 911. If you have any other information, please call the non-emergency line at 575-769-1921."
