Shooting leaves one injured

Clovis police are investigating a shooting that occurred about 10 p.m. Monday in the area around 11th and Wallace streets.

Records show Angel Villalobos was shot in both legs and then moved to the area of 10th and Mitchell where he was interviewed by police and treated for his wounds.

Villalobos told police there was no altercation but that he didn’t know what had happened.

“Angel was visibly distraught from the pain,” according to a police incident report.

“There is no information indicating this is a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Police Capt. Robert Telles said in a text message. No suspects were identified by police.

A police incident report showed Villalobos was placed in an ambulance and transported to Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

He was discharged from the Clovis hospital by Tuesday, Telles said.
