All-clear issued for Clovis school campuses

Clovis police on Thursday morning found "no validity" to a report of a "possible subject with a weapon" at 1400 Cameo St., according to Deputy Chief Trevor Thron.

Clovis schools about 10:30 a.m. placed the Student Support Services at the Cameo campus and the Clovis High School Freshman Academy into "Secure & Teach" mode. The precautions were lifted at 11:05 a.m. after law enforcement "issued an all-clear," according to a CMS news release.

"During Secure & Teach, all entrances and exits are secured and instruction continues as scheduled," CMS reported. "Due to the concerns surrounding these campuses, families and members of the public (were) asked to remain in their vehicles and follow all instructions from staff and law enforcement."

Cameo is not being used for instruction of students, but is housing the staff of Student Support Services.
