Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
An Eastern New Mexico University graduate has gifted two oil paintings to be displayed in the main lobby of the Jack Williamson Liberal Arts Building on the Portales campus.
"We want to display these paintings in high-traffic areas near the front of the (building)," said Bryan Hahn, manager of the Runnels Gallery and the university art collection curator.
"Many people from various disciplines are in that building, so a variety of people from many different backgrounds and interests will see the paintings."
The paintings, by Ed Sandoval, are titled "Pueblo Firelight" and "Ranchos Rain," according to an ENMU news release.
Sandoval graduated from ENMU in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in art education.
"A native son of Nambe ... Sandoval is known for his magical pictorial storytelling rooted in the land and history of New Mexico," the news release states.
