Can you vote if you’re in jail?
The answer is no you can’t, according to Roosevelt County Clerk Mandi Park.
“Ballots may not be mailed to correctional facilities. If you’re incarcerated you can’t vote in person,” Park said Wednesday.
Park pointed out if a person has a felony conviction in New Mexico there’s another reason they can’t vote.
“If you have a felony conviction, you’re not on the voter roll,” Park said.
Park noted once a person has served their sentence, including parole, the person may apply to be put back on the roll in New Mexico.
