WHITEFACE, Texas – Farwell’s girls are off to a red-hot start to the basketball season under first-year coach Joe Crabb.
On Tuesday, the senior-laden Lady Blue improved to 2-0 for the new campaign with a 67-42 victory over Whiteface (1-1), which was coming off an 81-16 drubbing of Class 3A Brownfield.
Senior Natalie Wade led Farwell with 22 points, while senior Bella Jaime chipped in 13, senior Makylee Baldwin collected 12 and sophomore Lexi Wade – Natalie’s sister – added 11. The Lady Blue trailed 12-6 at the quarter, but dominated the Lady Antelopes 43-15 over the next two stanzas.
Senior Hannah Blankenship scored 14 points for Whiteface.
In the team’s Nov. 2 opener, Farwell pounded lumps on Class 4A Hereford 83-35 at home, bolting to a 29-10 lead at the quarter. Jaime finished with 22 points and Baldwin added 19 in that one, while Natalie Wade chipped in 17 and senior Landri Richey scored 12.
Class 2A Farwell was slated to play at Class 4A Canyon Randall on Saturday, and returns to action with a game at Lubbock Liberty on Tuesday night.
