Gattis seventh graders win in season opener

The Gattis seventh grade boys basketball team won its season opener on Monday night, defeating the Hobbs Houston eighth grade B team 49-30.

Nathan Lewis scored 23 points to lead the Cubs. Luke Clements and James Butler were next in line with 5 and 4 points, respectively.

The Cubs do not return to action until Dec. 9.
