Up to 3 inches of snow predicted

The National Weather Service is predicting a 60% chance of snowshowers on Thursday with 2-3 inches possible before the day is done.

Frigid temperatures are expected the rest of the week -- highs in the 30s, lows in the 20s through Friday -- but Thursday is the only day NWS expects snowfall accumulations around the Clovis-Portales area.

Snow is most likely between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, but could continue to fall into Thursday night. Winds in excess of 25 mph could accompany the snow.

A high near 40 is predicted for Friday. Saturday's high temperature could climb to the mid-50s before cooling begins again on Sunday.
